To access cryptos in your accounts, the private key is required in this process, and it is stored offline separately and securely in your SecuX hardware wallet.
The “24 recovery words” are another form of the private key.
In case of any accident, if the user has his/her “24 recovery words” (correct words in correct order), then s/he can recover his/her wallet on another wallet again, either a software wallet or a hardware wallet.
Please note that anyone who has the user’s recovery words can have full access to manage the crypto assets as you do. As a consequence, users take the responsibility to ensure their recovery words are kept from others and stored securely with utmost care.
It is highly recommended to store your hardware wallet, PIN, and the recovery seed phrase separately. In the event of any unexpected incidents, having these components stored separately will significantly enhance the security of your crypto assets.
NEVER share, submit or expose your “24 recovery words” on the internet or to anyone, NOT even SecuX or any exchange. Anyone requesting your recovery words is a scammer. Neither share your device PIN to anyone.
Kindly keep in mind that “Not your keys, not your coins”.
Kindly be aware that the ”24 recovery words” appear only during the initial setup of the SecuX device as a “new wallet”. Once displayed, they cannot be retrieved or shown again.
For security reasons, there's no way to retrieve the seed phrase once it has been set up, even if you have complete access to the device and your crypto assets. We prioritize the security of your assets, and this is to ensure the highest level of security. This design is to prevent unauthorized access to your recovery words.
Besides, the hardware wallet will reset itself to “factory mode” after five (5) unsuccessful PIN entry attempts. This is a built-in security feature to protect your assets.
Moreover, SecuX operates non-custodial services, meaning we do NOT store, NOR do we have access to your crypto assets, recovery words/seed phrase, private keys, PIN, passwords, passphrases, or any other private information that can identify an individual. SecuX NEVER has access to your crypto assets.
